Exam stress? Think cotton candy!

This is the time of year, when most students are probably ecstatic or are stressing over that last assignment that is due, an exam or test.

Look at the bright side of things, after you ace that test, what a summer it will be!  No more tests, and most importantly, no more homework! Of course we will all be learning new things at each moment in our lives; it’s just much more fun when you don’t have to write it on paper.

When I am feeling really stressed about something, usually I take a deep breath and tell myself I can do this. Most times I will go for a jog and clear my head.  After that boost of energy and confidence I imagine the place I would rather be, because after I am finished I will hope to be there. It isn’t too hard for me to go someplace else, eating cotton candy at a fair, or slurping down a cold slushy at the beach.  How heavenly that would be.

The aboriginal population is the fastest-growing and youngest population.  We have many challenges.  Learning should not be one of them.  As children we should be excited about learning.  It seems rare to see someone receive a degree and we are all encouraged to get it.

I am only in Grade 8, so my first goal is to finish school. That’s a good place to start at a young age. Goals will help you become more organized, have a good view of what it is you are doing, and most of all get you to meet it.

Graduating seems so surreal. As cheesy as it sounds it seems as if yesterday I was in kindergarten, dreading waking early in the morning to step onto the big bus. And here I am, excited for that first day of high school. Thinking over the years and all the memories, it sure was a good time.

In the end all of the hard work for the year truly did pay off. And for one, I do not regret going to school; hopefully high school and college will be the same.

Congratulations graduates, and for those who are still completing their schooling, good luck!
