First Nation Forestry Technician Diploma offered at Anishinabek Educational Institute

AEI logoAnishinabek Educational Institute Munsee Delaware site (located 40 km south of London ON) AEI is recruiting for candidates who wish to pursue to attain the First Nation Forestry Technician Diploma 4 semester program.

The FNFT Program will consist to two cohort Intakes for Fall 2013 and May 2014, with Training project ending Spring 2015.

In partnership with Sir Sandford Fleming College, Indigenous Education Coalition, Munsee-Delaware Nation, and Southern First Nation Secretariat, the A.E.I Munsee-Delaware site will train 25 students through an intensive First Nation perspective, to become forester technicians with related skills that will support the expansion of innovative green jobs and related skills in the area of forestry and renewable energy.

The FNFT Program six pillars of learning will be the focus of this program including: Bio-Mass; Strategic Forestry Management, Species-At-Risk; Carbon Credits & Carbon Accounting; Forestry Business Opportunities; and Core Forestry Skills.
