Wynne to speak at Creating Partnerships Evening presented by RBC

creating partnershipsUOI OFFICES– Premier Kathleen Wynne is joining an Anishinabek Nation conversation about how First Nations can overcome barriers to economic prosperity.

The inaugural Creating Partnerships Evening presented by RBC will take place on Thursday, October 17th and will start off with a First Nations Open for Business Networking reception.  This will be followed by dialogue featuring Grand Council Chief Patrick Madahbee, The Right Honourable Paul Martin – former Prime Minister of Canada and the Premier of Ontario, Kathleen Wynne.  The dialogue will focus on Anishinabek priorities in education and economic prosperity for First Nation communities across Ontario.

“We want to have an honest and open conversation about the many issues and barriers facing First Nation economic development,” says Grand Council Chief Patrick Madahbee.  “Working in partnership with government and industry is the only way we will see economic prosperity for not only the First Nations, but for all of Ontario.”

Tickets for this evening gala are $800 each or $7500 for a table of 10.  Proceeds from the event will go to the Anishinabek Nation 7th Generation Charity, with dollars going to scholarships, bursaries and promoting healthy lifestyles in First Nation communities.
