Letter to the Editor: Lake Simcoe becoming a cesspool

mail

I am not a Native, but I am very much concerned with the preservation of our natural resources and habitats.

Georgina is where I live and our Mayor Grossi and his “yes men” have made a deal to allow sewage to be dumped into our pristine Lake Simcoe from Newmarket, Aurora, Queensville and East Gwillimbury.  They say the sewage water will be clean.  Yes, they can remove the solids, but not the Prozac, HIV meds, residue from birth control pills, cancer meds, effluent from hospitals, etc.  They won’t get those out.

They will be dumping 47 MILLION litres A DAY!  Now you multiply that by 365 days a year and my God, that is a lot of crap to deal with.

Some doctors have spoken out against this.  They say there is a connection of Mad Cow disease to Alzheimer’s.  Mad Cow has been known to survive the toughest kinds of sewer treatments and even after being nuked.  In three years our frogs will be mutating, our fish will be polluted and our kids will be sick from mysterious ailments.  Lake Simcoe will become a cesspool.

Newmarket and the other cities are doubling, as well as Georgina, Barrie and every other settlement around the lake.  It appears my voice and those of other people  are just voices crying in the wilderness and falling on deaf ears.

The Native nation is very good at blocking roads, railways etc. to protest.  I would really like to see them take a forceful stand against all this crap coming up here.  After all Lake Simcoe is the source of our drinking water.

Sincerely,
