GARDEN RIVER – Jordan Nolan, 25 –who wears number 71 for the Los Angeles Kings – brought the Stanley Cup home for the second time.

Celebrations took place during a mini pow-wow celebration on August 8.  The Rick Nolan Fire Hall was filled with daycare kids asking about Nolan.  The kids were in total awe of their local hero who gives Garden River First Nation children hope for opportunities.

The celebration was a request of Jordan’s aunt Arlene Barry (nee Nolan) who passed into the spirit world before the celebration.  The mini pow -wow was the celebration of her nephew’s achievement.

With Arlene’s direction,  aunties, uncles, cousins and friends joined Jordan in celebrating with Lord Stanley.  500 people celebrated Nolan in dancing at the pow-wow grounds with the cup.

Jordan’s parents are Ted and Sandra Nolan.  He was called up mid-season with the Kings two years ago and won his first Stanley Cup.  This second win is icing on the cake.
