Premier at ONWAA gathering a first

THUNDER BAY – In the 43-year history of the Ontario Native Women’s Association, never has a premier attended.

Premier Kathleen Wynne spoke to delegates at the November event.  She remains committed to, among other causes for Aboriginal women and children – advancing a national inquiry on the missing and murdered Aboriginal women.

“Alanna Jones, representing Anishinabek Kwe of the North Shore, attended the Ontario Native Women’s Association annual general assembly in late November in Thunder Bay.

Premier Wynne remains committed to, among other causes for Aboriginal women and    children, advancing a national inquiry on the missing and murdered Aboriginal women.

Alanna Jones, who represented Anishinabek Kwe of the North Shoreat the event says that the general assembly was educational and informative.

“It was a great networking opportunity for meeting many Anishinabek kwe of influence,” said Jones.
