March is a great time of year for family fun and activities to engage all community members. During the March break one of our Anishinabek Nation communities hosted a Family Wellness Day among other communities functions. This event runs annual in Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation and is gaining community participation each year. The workers of the Health Centre collaborate their efforts and started the event off with a beautiful lunch, activities with to engage all ages, traditional teachings along some self-care professionals who were present to pamper the participants. The FASD program was invited to present the “Creating our Feast Bundles” Workshop. The feast bundle workshop is open to all ages but is specifically great for youth entering into their rites of passage. The areas this workshop touches on are the; berry fast, children’s environmental health, protecting our children’s future: A Caring for Mother Earth Checklist, and then decorating their feast bundles. If communities are looking to host this workshop please contact our FASD Program at any of our offices.  www.anishinabek.ca 1-877-702-5200
