FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE NAN COORDINATING SEARCH FOR JOSIAH BEGG

THUNDER BAY, ON: Nishnawbe Aski Nation (NAN) is coordinating an extensive search of the Thunder Bay community for 14-year-old Josiah Begg, of Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug, who has been missing since the weekend.

“We are extremely concerned with Josiah’s disappearance and we hope and pray that he will be located safely as quickly as possible. We have assisted with the search for Josiah since he was reported missing, and have increased our efforts by establishing a command centre to coordinate our efforts,” said Deputy Grand Chief Anna Betty Achneepineskum. “We greatly appreciate the efforts of everyone participating in this search for Josiah and we ask for anyone who has any information about his disappearance to please come forward.”

Josiah was last seen on Saturday May 6, 2017 around 10 p.m. near Vale Community Centre. He is described as slim build, 5’5”’, 120 pounds, with short brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a red baseball cap, red hoody, and grey/white sweat pants.

NAN has mobilized Bear Clan volunteers to assist with the search and has established a Search Command Centre at the Econolodge at 686 Memorial Avenue:
