Ron George named scholar
Ron George will join the Windsor Law School as Ianni-Scholar-in-Residence, effective July 2013.
In making the announcement, Camille Cameron, Dean of the law school, said: “Ron will continue to offer courses in Aboriginal Law. He will also work with us to increase our curriculum content and course offerings in Aboriginal Law and Legal Studies, build our connections with Aboriginal communities and enhance our efforts to recruit Aboriginal students.” Following fifteen years as a First Nations Constable with the Kettle and Stoney Point Police Service, he took on the role of Inspector/Special Advisor on First Nations Policing for the Ontario Provincial Police and then Superintendent and Aboriginal Liaison – Operations, assigned to the Office of the Provincial Commander. In 2006, he was awarded a Civil Rights Pin given to the Ontario Provincial Police by the International Association of Chiefs of Police for his work in protecting and promoting civil rights.
