Six Mississauga First Nations to sign historic Mississauga Accord
HAGERSVILLE, ON (Wednesday, October 19, 2016)–The Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation (MNCFN) is pleased to be hosting an historic relationship accord between all six Mississauga First Nations.
The relationship accord signatories are: Alderville First Nation, Curve Lake First Nation, Hiawatha First Nation, Mississauga 8 First Nation, Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation, and the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation.
The Mississauga peoples constitute a nation by virtue of our creation, our shared histories, language, culture, values, traditions, beliefs and aspirations.
The six Mississauga nations are Anishinabe peoples and constitute a nation by virtue of our creation, our shared histories, language, culture, values, traditions, beliefs and aspirations.
Through the signing of the Accord, the signatories will agree to work in a collaborative and inclusive way on a range of agreed-upon issues and initiatives of common interest or concern among the parties.
The historic signing will take place on October 29, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the MNCFN Community Centre at 659 New Credit Rd. Bldg#4, Hagersville, ON.
