ANISHINAABEMOWIN SPECIALISTS

Classification:    SP3 Business Services Specialist – Salary Grade Band I

Position Objective:

This position is responsible for assisting in the development of a comprehensive, community-led language development of 6-8 accredited early learning and childcare professional development micro-credentials in Anishinaabemowin.  This position includes supporting the ongoing education and training of IELCC leaders, management, and staff. The development of the plan will include the Quality improvement planning team, community members, leadership, language champions, other departments, and community partners.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated oral and written Anishinaabemowin fluency.
  • A minimum of one year experience in development or supporting the development of curriculum.
  • Experience in instruction of Anishinaabemowin would be considered an asset.
  • Experience in transcribing and translating curriculum lessons and content into Anishinaabemowin would be considered an asset.

Job Knowledge and Skills:

  • Working knowledge of software applications such as Microsoft Office suite (outlook, MS word).
  • Willingness to learn to navigate communication tools within the organization like MS Teams and SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of Anishinaabek culture and traditions.
  • Ability to work independently in-office and when working remotely.
