Website Generalist
Location: Anishinabek Nation Head Office in Nipissing First Nation
Full-Time Position with Benefits
(after successfully completing 3 months of employment)
Salary: $62,373 – $70,690
The Website Generalist is responsible for website, and overall communications support for the Union of Ontario Indians (UOI) secretariat, and for working within policy parameters and administrative guidelines. This position receives direction and reports to the Communications Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in communications and/or website development;
- Minimum experience in website development and administration required:
- 2 years
- Proficiency in software applications including:
- WordPress
- Social Media Platforms (X, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram)
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Have a valid Ontario driver’s license and be insurable under UOI policy.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- General knowledge of the organization and services, activities and membership of the Anishinabek Nation, First Nation political aspirations, and current events related to First Nations affairs;
- Knowledge of website and social media analytics;
- Experience with audio and video equipment an asset;
- Must have excellent customer service and communication skills;
- Must be able to work independently and in a team environment;
- Advanced written and oral communications skills;
- Must have strong time management, organization and planning skills;
- Must be highly motivated and a self-starter;
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and meet demanding deadlines;
- Work irregular/extended hours if required; and
- Must be willing to travel.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Hands-on involvement in the planning, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of websites and web applications;
- Performing media scans and analytics;
- Developing and distributing internal newsletters;
- Developing Anishinabek News e-newsletter;
- Coordinating the Anishinabek News job board postings
- Assisting the Communications Director as required; and
- Performing other duties as assigned.
