Finance Officer, Labour Market Development

LOCATION: Anishinabek Nation Head Office, Nipissing First Nation

Full Time Position with Benefits

(after successfully completing 3 months of employment)

Salary Range: $52,812 to $59,853

Reporting to the Labor Market Development Director, the Finance Officer is responsible for assisting the Finance Coordinator with the financial operations relating to sub-agreement holder financial reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College diploma or equivalent in Accounting or Business;
  • Proven experience in a Financial or Accounting setting;
  • A Criminal Reference check completed within the last 12 months;
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and relevant computer systems, programs and software) and able to learn new technologies and tools; and
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license and be

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assisting with the Indigenous Early Learning Childcare and Labour Market Development Employment and Training sub-agreement holders’ financial arrangements;
  • Assisting with the annual review of the sub-agreement allocations and ensuring issuing of payment is completed in a timely manner;
  • Supporting the IELCC and LMD Sub-Agreement Holders in guiding and assisting with completion of mid-year and year-end annual financial claims via zoom meetings and/or community visits;
  • Assisting with the confirmation of accuracy of financial claim reconciliations;
  • Supporting the Finance Coordinator in year-end activities, such as the payment reconciliation process of the 39 IELCC Sub-Agreement Holders, 9 First Nation Inuit Childcare Initiative (FNICCI) Sub-Agreement Holders, and 9 Local Delivery Mechanism’s (LDM’s) Sub-Agreement Holders;
  • Supporting the Finance Coordinator in facilitating monthly budget updates to Director and Department Staff;
  • Travelling within the region when required; and
  • Other duties as assigned.
