Camper and volunteer applications now open for NOSM University’s 20th Annual CampMed

SUDBURY (February 12, 2026)Applications for Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) University’s 20th annual CampMed are now open to both campers and volunteers. This immersive summer program provides high-school students from Northern Ontario and other rural and remote communities with a unique opportunity to explore medicine and health sciences through hands-on learning and mentorship.

The program encourages high-school students—especially those living in rural or remote areas—to explore careers in health care.

CampMed is led by volunteer post-secondary students, graduates, medical students, and health professionals. Applications for both campers and volunteers close on March 9.

CampMed has welcomed more than 1,200 campers from 169 communities since 2006. Camper experiences include Indigenous and Francophone culture and health traditions, hands-on and simulation-based learning, and mentorship opportunities.

CampMed takes place in Sudbury from July 6-10, 2026, and in Thunder Bay from July 13-17, 2026.
