ANISHINABEK NATION TERRITORY – The Anishinabek Nation 7th Generation Charity (AN7GC) began selling tickets for its fourth instalment of its popular Anishinabek Catch the Ace online weekly progressive raffle on April 2, 2025. On February 18, 2026, in the 46th week of the raffle, almost 11 months after the first ticket was sold, the weekly winning ticket holder’s envelope was opened to reveal the Ace of Spades.

Weekly draws took place every Wednesday evening, with weekly ticket sales split into three portions: 20 per cent to the weekly jackpot, 30 per cent to the progressive Catch the Ace jackpot, and 50 per cent to the AN7GC.

Each week, one lucky ticket holder won the weekly jackpot. In addition, they had an opportunity to win the progressive Catch the Ace jackpot by having their chosen envelope opened to reveal a playing card.

A big congratulations goes out to the lucky winner, Robin Guerin of Lavigne, Ontario, who found the Ace of Spades in envelope #13, winning the Week #46 weekly jackpot of $2,028.00 as well as the progressive jackpot of $35,427.00, for a grand total win of $37,455.00!

“We are very happy with the result of our 4th raffle,” says AN7GC Manager Jason Restoule. “Having the Ace of Spades stay hidden for 46 weeks gave the opportunity for the Jackpots to grow, which resulted in ticket sales growing as well, especially during the last few weeks”.

For those eager to continue to support and have another chance at the growing Jackpots, the AN7GC has plans to start another Anishinabek Catch the Ace raffle in the coming months.

“We’ve been lucky over the past two raffles, having the Ace of Spades stay hidden for so long. This has allowed the popularity of the raffle to grow and we’re already looking forward to our next one,” Restoule said. “Our goal is to continue to make it grow, resulting in bigger jackpots, but more importantly, more funds being raised to help our Anishinabek First Nation citizens in need.”

Ticket buyers are the key to success.

“We are very grateful to all the ticket buyers, as it’s literally their generous support that results in the success of this fundraising initiative,” says Restoule. “A great big Gchi-miigwech goes out to all who participated!”

Over $118,000.00 worth of tickets were sold over the course of the raffle, resulting in over $59,000.00 in proceeds for the AN7GC.
