Fire Chief Sarazin to receive Anishinabek Lifetime Achievement Award

ALGONQUINS OF PIKWÀKANAGÀN FIRST NATION (July 9, 2026) — The Algonquins of Pikwàkanagàn First Nation is proud to announce that Fire Chief Chris Sarazin has been selected as a recipient of the prestigious Anishinabek Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2026 Anishinabek Evening of Excellence.
Fire Chief Sarazin will be formally recognized during the awards ceremony scheduled for the evening of Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Casino Rama Resort in Chippewas of Rama First Nation. The award celebrates individuals whose lifelong dedication, leadership, and service have made a lasting and meaningful impact on their communities and the Anishinabek Nation.
For more than three decades, Fire Chief Sarazin has demonstrated unwavering commitment to protecting the health, safety, and well-being of the Algonquins of Pikwàkanagàn First Nation. Through his leadership of the Pikwàkanagàn Fire Department and as a Medical Transportation Driver, he has helped strengthen emergency response services, promote fire prevention and public education, and mentor generations of firefighters and community leaders.
The Anishinabek Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes not only Fire Chief Sarazin’s remarkable professional accomplishments but also the legacy he has built through decades of service. His leadership has contributed significantly to the safety and resilience of the Algonquins of Pikwàkanagàn First Nation and serves as an inspiration to future generations.
Chief and Council, as well as the Administration, extend their heartfelt congratulations on this well-deserved honour.
