Anishinabek flee flooding

Pic Mobert First Nation, located 270 kilometres north of Sault Ste. Marie, declared an emergency because of rising waters and the likelihood of flooding in the White Lake watershed. 14 persons were evacuated to Geraldton May 12 and more were expected to be evacuated to Thunder Bay.
Meanwhile water levels have begun to recede on the Spanish River. Several members of Sagamok Anishnawbek First Nation were previously evacuated to Sudbury for medical reasons for ongoing treatment.
