Groups express serious concerns over proposed 10-year re-licensing of Chalk River Laboratories

The Algonquin Anishinabeg Nation Tribal Council, the Anishinabek Nation, Ottawa Riverkeeper, the Concerned Citizens of Renfrew County and Area, and Stop Oléoduc Outaouais are jointly inviting media to a bilingual press conference. After having studied Canadian Nuclear Laboratories’ application for a 10-year renewal of their operating license, the longest ever, the groups will present their serious concerns with this proposal. They will also present important information about the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) re-licensing hearings taking place next week in Pembroke, Ontario, where they and many other groups will be airing concerns.

WHEN: Press conference begins at 10:30am on Thursday, January 18. It will be followed by a citizen’s march through downtown Ottawa (see Media advisory 2 below).
