NORTH BAY – The Native People of Nipissing Housing Corporation is proud to announce the appointment of Aaron St.Pierre from Moose Deer Point First Nation as its new Executive Director.
Aaron St.Pierre brings many years of experience working in the non-profit sector, having previously served as a board director for the Native People of Sudbury Development Corporation, and as a board director for St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Sudbury, Ontario. Aaron is also currently a member of the Laurentian University Board of Governors, where he has attained a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in History, and is currently working towards his Masters of Business Administration. Aaron previously worked for ICAN-CERD in Sudbury, ON, which provides a range of services for persons with disabilities and seniors.
For many years Aaron has been a strong believer in the benefits of social housing and an advocate for Indigenous social housing in particular, so the opportunity to help provide affordable housing to Indigenous persons in North Bay is a challenge he is eager to take on.
Fifty percent of Indigenous people in Canada now live in urban centres, so it is imperative that strong efforts are made to help provide safe and affordable housing to individuals struggling to make ends meet and provide an opportunity to make a living in places like North Bay.
