FASD Program Worker- Northern Superior Region
LOCATION: Fort William First Nation Satellite Office
Fulltime Permanent Position with Benefits
(after successfully completing 3 months of employment)
Salary Range: $59,811.44 to $67,786.28
Reporting to the FASD Manager, the FASD Program Worker will implement programming and outreach initiatives, assist with capacity building at the community level, and contribute to the development of community-based and culturally rooted resources. The role also involves advocacy, public education, and support for individuals, families, and First Nations navigating FASD.
This position provides a meaningful opportunity to work directly with communities and contribute to holistic, strengths-based approaches that honour Anishinabek values and traditions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· A degree or diploma in Education, Health Sciences, Social Work, Indigenous Studies or in a related field;
· Experience working with families, communities, or individuals affected by FASD or other forms of neurodivergence, preferably in a community based or culturally informed context. Knowledge of Anishinabek culture, traditions, and community realities, with the ability to deliver culturally grounded content and programming;
· Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and relevant programs and software, with the ability to learn new technologies and tools; and
· Must possess a valid Ontario Driver’s License, be insurable under the organization’s vehicle insurance policy and be willing and able to travel regularly for work-related events, meetings., and other duties as required.

· Proficiency in using social media platforms for communication and outreach;
· Ability to navigate office environments and use standard office equipment; and
· Ability to understand and speak Anishinaabemowin, or willingness to learn.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Develop and deliver culturally relevant programming and resources that reflect Anishinabek traditions, values, and knowledge related to FASD and neurodiversity;
· Engage and advocate with First Nations communities to identify needs, build relationships, and support community-led initiatives;
· Plan and coordinate workshops, outreach activities, and events, including conferences and regional gatherings;
· Collaborate with the FASD Manager and Health Secretariat to support program development, strategic initiatives, and resource creation;
· Attend and support in-person meetings and gatherings, providing real-time logistical and coordination support;
· Maintain accurate documentation, including reports, travel requests, and purchasing records;
· Travel regularly within the Anishinabek Nation territory, including occasional overnight stays, and work flexible hours as needed to support community events and outreach.
