Kindergarteners clean house on Earth Day

CHIPPEWAS of the THAMES FN – The 14 children of Fiona Braidwood’s Senior Kindergarten class were on cleanup duty April 22, celebrated around the world as Earth Day.
Assisted by three teachers and three members of the First Nation’s development corporation, the students were armed with garbage bags and gloves to gather up all the refuse around the Antler River School yard.
”The children have been learning about how things grow and the difference between the living things and non-living things,” said their teacher. “This will help them to understand the subject better and make the schoolyard better for the entire school.”
School principal Heather Pais was on hand to say Miigwech to the Senior Kindergarteners for doing their part in keeping Chippewas of the Thames clean and safe for the whole community.
