Petahtegoose is home at last
March 31, 2015
A final blast of arctic air could not combat the warming thermal spirits of family and friends, including Anishinabek Nation Grand Council Chief Patrick Madahbee ( at head of stretcher on right) as Jonathan Petahtegoose of Atikameksheng Anishnawbek and his mom Elizabeth ( pictured on opposite side of raised stretcher) were unloaded off the Medevac flight from Campbell River, B.C. Jonathan will reside at Extendicare York in Sudbury until a permanent bed can be found for him in Sudbury.
Tony Jocko, Union of Ontario Indians Health Policy Analyst, worked with Health Canada officials to make this flight home happen.
